Dear Friend,

Thank you for participating in the ISLAND Sleep Study recently; your time and effort completing the questionnaires online through the ISLAND portal is greatly appreciated.

This is a friendly reminder about your invitation to take part in the ISLAND Sleep Study – Olfactory & Actigraphy Project  This project involves measuring your sense of smell using some scratch ’n’ sniff tests and your sleep/wake patterns using actigraphy watches.

We think this new sub-study may be of interest to you because you are an active ISLAND participant, but your participation is entirely voluntary, and you are free to ignore this email if you wish.

Olfactory & Actigraphy materials

We are interested in how sense of smell and sleep/wake patterns change in later life. You are invited to complete several scratch ’n’ sniff cards to assess your sense of smell and you will get to find out your sense of smell test results too. You are also invited to wear an actigraphy watch for seven days, which will measure your daily activity while you are awake and asleep.

You are free to choose to participate in both of these projects, or just one. Please click the link below if you are interested in participating and you will be taken to the Participant Information and Consent form which contains more details about this research project.
