Dear Friend, We are glad to see that so many of you have already logged in to the Understanding Dementia MOOC and taken the time to familiarise yourselves with the course site, as well as introducing yourselves and interacting with others on the 'Social Space' discussion forum. 'The Brain' Module is now accessible to those who have responded to the yes/no Research Consent question in the Orientation Module. ‘The Brain’ provides an introduction to dementia, and a background on basic nervous system anatomy and function, followed by a discussion of how the main diseases that cause dementia affect the brain. Current dementia research and future directions are also discussed. 'The Diseases' Module will be accessible from 4th March, 9am (AEDT), after successful completion of the quiz at the end of 'The Brain.' If you haven’t yet had a chance to log in (or have just enrolled recently), we would encourage you to spend some time in the Orientation Module, to familiarise yourself with the Understanding Dementia MOOC site and its various functions. To enter the course, simply visit mooc.utas.edu.au/profile. You will be asked to log in with your email address and the password you set at sign up. If you need to reset your password, you can click here mooc.utas.edu.au/forgot_password and a link will be emailed to you (check for the password reset in your junk mail folder if you can’t see it in your inbox). Please also feel free to continue to invite your friends, relatives and colleagues to enrol in the Understanding Dementia MOOC. Enrolments are open until 12th March at mooc.utas.edu.au/landing/udedmci2. Looking forward to seeing you in the course. Kind regards,
